About the Alsip Park District

The Alsip Park District was established on December 5, 1965. We continue to dedicate ourself to providing the community with the finest quality in parks, facilities and recreational activities for all ages. The park district currently offers 20 park locations occupying 201 acres of park land (see Parks & Facilities for specific information and locations).

A dedicated Board of Commissioners, hard working staff and an enthusiastic volunteers have resulted in successful and innovative program offerings to participants of all ages. Over 800 programs and special events ranging from Pre-School to Mature Adults are offered throughout the year and published in four seasonal brochures.

as a result of the dedicated service of the Board of Commissioners, staff and volunteers, the Alsip Park District received National recognition by being selected as a Gold Medal Winner by the National Sports Foundation. The Gold Medal Award represents excellence in the field of park and recreation management.

Alsip Beautification Day Girls 12" Softball
Saturday, April 19 Registration currently being accepted
Alsip Village Hall at the Apollo Recreation Center
4600 W. 123rd Street, Alsip Girls 6-18 are eligible to participate
ALL, under 12 require adult accompaniment Registration fees are R$70/NR$80
8:30 am - 12:00 noon Cut off date for each age division is 1/01/2008

"Race for the Kids" 5K Run/3K Walk

This annual event will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the Aquatic Park/ Prairie Junior High School.
The race and walk will have seperate routes with a common start and finish. The event is scheduled to begin promptly at 7:30 am and will be held on residential streets and along one of our scenic run paths. Refreshments will be available before during and after the event. All pre-registered runners/walkers will be guaranteed a run/walk shirt.

Registration forms are available at the Apollo Recreation Center, located at 12521 S. Kostner, Alsip. All runners/walkers must complete a registration form and sign and date the race waiver in order to participate.
Pre-registration fees are $15.00 prior to June 1st. Registration fees from June 2 through June 13 will be $20.00 Pre-registration will end at 5:00 pm on Friday, June 13. Race day registration fees are $22.00. You can also
pre-register at
www.runrace.net 

 

Note: All proceeds from the race/walk will benefit the Alsip Park District's Youth Scholarship Program. This program is designed for families who are in need of financial assistance in order to provide recreational opportunities for their children.
