Dear Alsip Park District Resident,

The Alsip Park District Park Board of Commissioners and staff are proud to report on the Re-development of Sears Park. Work has continued through the summer and will be coming to an end this fall. We will be hosting a Grand Re-Opening of this park site in the fall, details will be posted on our website. Sears Park improvements include a lighted walking path with fitness stations, a lighted multi-purpose field for soccer and football usuage with spectator seating. The Alsip Park District proudly named this field Beggars Field which will become the home field for the Alsip Falcons. The park site will also include additional parking, a picnic shelter with picnic tables, a new rock climbing area, a renovated pond with water feature, an overlook to the pond for easy fishing access and a new softball field with player benches. The Park Board of Commissioners and Staff are extremely excited to bring this underutilized park site back to life for our residents. With the assistance of an OSLAD Grant from the IDNR, construction is proposed to be completed by the Fall of 2010. Sears Park remains closed during this re-development.

I am pleased to report on these projects and just wanted to take an opportunity to update you, our residents. Fall Program Information

Information regarding our 2010 Fall Programs, special events, facilities and a lot more can be located within this site. Resident registration for our Fall programs is scheduled to begin the week of August 23. Nonresident registration is scheduled to begin the week of August 30, 2010. Fall programs will begin the week of September 13, 2010.
