Kids will learn the basics of bowling, such as what is a strike or a spare, proper footwork and releasing the ball. Skills will be taught and reinforced through a game of bowling each week. Fee includes instruction, shoes, bowling, pizza party and award for all participants.
Note: This will be one eight week session.

Join us for another exciting season of basketball! Each participant will receive a uniform shirt and end of season team sweatshirt, not to mention a wealth of basketball knowledge from our qualified coaches. Each team will practice once per week, time and location dependent on each coach's personal schedule. All teams will play a ten week season, with one game per week on Sundays. The tenth week of the season, all teams will participate in an end of season all day tournament, where each team will play two games.
Note: There will be no games played on Saturday, December 25 , 2010 or January 1, 2011.

NEW this Fall, the Alsip Park is accepting registration for their Girls 12” “Fall” Softball Program. Registration will be accepted at the Apollo Recreation Center. This program is being offered to girls 9-14 years of age. The league shall consist of a 6-8 game schedule. Practice times will be held during the week, with specific times and locations to be selected by our volunteer coaches. Games will be played on weekends. All participants will receive a hat, jersey, shorts, socks, end of season award and a free $10.00 picture package.

This class will help your child learn the strategies of the game and work on the skills of passing, dribbling, and shooting. Participants will do repetitive drills to develop coordination and improve their game. Teamwork and sportsmanship will also be stressed during this program. Children should dress in comfortable clothing and gym shoes.
Note: There is no class on November 26 and December 3. Register for any sports class and receive a free t-shirt.

This program will introduce children to the fundamentals of soccer, floor hockey, basketball and other sports. Sportsmanship, sharing and teamwork will also be focused on.
Join this great program and enjoy the wonderful feeling of skating on ice. This program is offered to beginners as well as advanced participants. All instructors are certified through the United States Figure Skating association. Classes are eight weeks in length. You may bring your own skates.

Ready for some fast-paced, exciting soccer action? Then our Fall Outdoor Soccer League is just for you! All participants will play an 8 game season beginning in September, with weekly practices depending on each coach's individual schedule. This league will stress fun, sportsmanship, fair play, and teamwork. Teams will be selected on a random basis by Alsip Park District employees. Each participant will receive an end of season trophy, a team uniform package that includes shorts, shirt and socks, and a $10 picture package. Each team will also play one night game at Commissioners Park! Register today! Game times are dependent on the number of teams per division. The Alsip Park District reserves the right to combine divisions if needed.

Continue to expand your skills for baseball with this exciting class. Skills taught include baseball rules. A coach will pitch instead of a tee” to prepare participants for baseball. Good sportsmanship and team work are stressed. Class will be held indoors or outdoors, depending on the weather. The same skills will be covered in each session. Make sure and bring a glove to all classes. All participants will receive a t-shirt.
Note: There will be no class on Monday, September 6.
This program is designed to teach the basics of T-ball, leading into the fundamentals of baseball. Skills taught include throwing, hitting, and catching, fielding and basic baseball rules. Good sportsmanship and team work are stressed. The same skills will be covered in both sessions. Class will be held in doors or outdoors, depending on the weather. All participants will receive a t-shirt. Don't forget your glove!
Note: There will be no class on Monday July 5. A make-up class will be held on July 26.
