Stir, bake, taste, YUM!!! This class is perfect for all those kids who love to cook! We will make delicious creations and learn about kitchen safety all while having a blast! Recipe books will be sent home the last week of class. Make sure you wear an apron or bring a towel to class!

Start your child off on the road to nutrition. You and your child will put together six healthy, tasty and easy recipes that you will want to make over and over. Kitchen safety and sanitation will also be stressed. A copy of each recipe will be included and don't forget your apron.
Note: There will be no class on Friday, November 26 or December 3.

Boys and girls will enjoy this program designed to introduce the letters of the alphabet. Through games, stories and art, participants will gain letter recognition, memory skills, and social skills of sharing and interacting with their peers.

Location: MULTIPURPOSE II At APOLLO REC CENTER Min/Max: 6/8
This 90 minute “pre” preschool class will keep your child active with plenty hands-on activities. Children will learn the proper way to use scissors and glue. It will also aid in alleviating any separation anxiety experienced with starting preschool.
Your little one will get a splash out of our Dibbles-n-Dabbles class. Sponge painting, object painting, and many other unique forms of painting will be done in this colorful class. Make sure you bring an old shirt to class to act as a paint smock.
Note: There will be no class on Thursday, November 25.
Each week will feature unique materials to create with. Painting with sponges, Q-tips or matchbox cars, building with craft sticks or sugar cubes are just of the few things in store to spark the individual creativity in each child. Please remember to bring an old shirt and let us clean up the mess while you just have fun with your child.

Reading is not only a wonderful activity to share with your child; it is also an important step in starting children on a successful road to learning. Interesting and interactive stories along with songs and games will be enjoyed each week.
Note: There will be no class on Saturday, December 4.

The leaves changing colors, putting sweater on again, football, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and so much more tell us that autumn has arrived. This hands-on class will explore the many changes of Fall using all five senses. Participants thinking and learning ability will be stimulated through a variety of projects and experiences.
This class will work towards introducing and reinforcing your child's knowledge of shapes. Through crafts, puzzles, and games, we will focus on a different shape each class.
This class will work towards introducing and reinforcing your child's knowledge of colors. Four of the primary colors will be focused on in Session A, Session B will focus on the other four primary colors, through crafts, songs, stories and games.
Not quite ready for Preschool? Just missed that cut-off date? This class will ease your child into Preschool. Colors, shapes and numbers will be introduced along with projects that require following simple directions and listening skills.
This time slot will offer an opportunity for those children who are shy or are having difficulties with sharing and playing with peers. For the first half hour, toys will be available for free play. In the second half hour, circle time activities will be lead by the instructor, where all participants will sit in a circle and do songs and hear a story. In the last half hour, group activities such as putting a puzzle together will be done. You may register for one, two, or all three parts of the class.

This time slot will offer activities for those important Large and Small Motor Skills. The first half hour will focus on Large Motor skills using balls, hoops, climbing equipment, etc. The second half hour will focus on Small Motor doing puzzles, drawing and coloring, stringing beads, etc. The last half hour will be activities set out in both categories for free play. You may register for one, two, or all three parts of the class.

This time slot will give your little one to do school stuff just like the big kids. The first time slot will have a hands on manipulative/activities focusing on counting, the second time slot will have a hands on manipulative/activities focusing on letters, the third time slot will have a hands on manipulative/activities focusing on colors and shapes. You may register for one, two, or all three parts of the class.
Bobby Bear fun and fitness was started to correct lifestyles at a very young age. Childhood obesity is at an all time high and disease in children and adults can be corrected by changing lifestyle and implementing education on fitness and nutrition. Our goal is to ensure an impact on changing our children and the disease trends with exercise and nutrition. Bobby Bear Fun and Fitness developed a curriculum that produces healthier and happier individuals. We strive to Excel with Energy! Bobby Bear fun and fitness follows their own curriculum for cardiovascular strength training. This programming involves education along with vigorous activity. We use themes that change week to week along with exercise and nutrition words. The curriculum changes every week for an entire year. Every team member of Bobby Bear Fun and Fitness is certified "The Bobby Bear way" to promote our focus for fitness, nutrition and education with care and compassion. We are changing the world one child at a time! Parents can now have time to achieve their own fitness goals by using the time your child is enrolled to use our Women's Circuit Center or Fitness Center, or stay and workout with your child. Three four week sessions, at various times are available to fit any schedule.

Counting will be fun in this class. Each week your child will associate a number with the corresponding object or objects to understand the skill of counting. This class is divided into two six week sessions, numbers 1-5 will be introduced in session A with a review and numbers 6-10 in session B with a review.
Here is an opportunity to create an art project, listen to a story, sing a song with your child, and meet other parents. Each week's activities will be centered on a different theme.
The Alsip Park District Preschool is designed for youngster's 3 and 4 years of age. Children must be completely toilet trained. Our program will expose your 3 and 4 year old to subjects such as math, science, music, art, and language arts. Your child will also experience field trips and holiday programs. A graduation ceremony will be held in May. The program is divided into two sessions. The first session will run September through December and the second session will run January through May. Information regarding registration for the January through May session will be offered in our Fall 2010 brochure. All age requirements must be met by September 1, 2010.

One of the ways children begin to recognize their world around them is through colors and shapes. This class will introduce your little one to identify these concepts using fun stories, songs, crafts and more.

Introduce your child to shapes and develop those fine motor skills through putting puzzles together. Different shapes will be used to create a puzzle each week that you and your child can recreate at home. NOTE: There will be no class on Monday July 5. A make-up will be held on July 26.

Children will enjoy the summer weather playing games, taking walks, doing crafts and hearing stories and finger plays in the shade. Class will meet in the Babysitting room then move outdoors, weather permitting. Two sessions will be offered.

Your child will enjoy playing games outside, weather permitting, like hop-scotch, four-square, red-rover, chalk drawings, and arts & crafts. Please make sure to dress for outside.
Double the fun and double the learning in this class where your child will be reciting Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes such as “One, Two buckle my Shoe”, “Rub-A-Dub-Dub Three Men in a Tub” (see the counting part?) Each counting rhyme will be sent home with your child for you to have to say again and again with your child.
