How to Register

Registration Process

  1. REGISTRATION WILL BEGIN UPON RECEIPT OF YOUR BROCHURE.
    You simply complete a registration form and return it to the Alsip Park District Registration Department and we will mail you a confirmation receipt once your registration has been processed. A copy of our 2014 Fall brochure is scheduled to be delivered August 7-16, 2014. Program registrations will begin to be processed for residents on Monday, August 19and non-resident registration will begin on Monday, August 26. 
  2. Walk-In registration may be taken after the initial lottery registration period.
  3. All program registration is done on a lottery basis.

Registration Deadlines
Registration for the 2014 FALL brochure will begin on Monday, August 19 and non-resident registration will begin on Monday, August 26.  If you do not receive your copy of the Fall brochure prior to the start of the registration dates, please contact our main office at (708) 389-1003, and leave your name and address with the receptionist. We work very closely with the delivery service and make every attempt to have a brochure delivered to your home.

Four Easy Ways to Register:

  1. ONLINE REGISTRATION
    Visit www.alsipparks.org, select registration, select online registration. For first time users of the On-Line Registrationsystem, you will have to set-up an account.This can be done by selecting the “Create Account Tab”.Setting up a new account will only take a few minutes and is only required for the first time you use the system. The online registration system provides many handy features that are designed to make registration easier.
  2. Mail-in
    Complete the registration form in the brochure or click herePDF Download for a copy of the form. The form must be Mail-In Registrationfilled out completely in order to be processed. Payments may be made by check or credit card. Checks should be made payable to the Alsip Park District. If paying by credit card, include your complete credit card number, card holder name, expiration date and signature. Make sure you sign the waiver on the registration from. Mail to:

  3. Fax

  4. Drop-off
    Complete the registration form in the brochure and/or complete a registration form at the Apollo Drop-Off RegistrationRecreation Center. The form must be filled out completely in order to be processed. Place the completed registration form inside the mailbox located outside the front entrance of the Apollo Recreation Center or drop it off at the Registration Desk during regular business hours. The Alsip Park District accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover for credit card payments.
Sorry, no telephone or online registrations.

Credit Card Logos

A $25.00 fee is charged on all NSF checks. All future registrations must be paid by cash, certified check or money order. Payment is due at the time of registration, unless otherwise noted.

Program Confirmation
A confirmation/receipt will be sent to you in the mail once your registration has been processed. If it states “ENROLLED” you are enrolled in the program. If it states “W-List”, you are on the waiting list for the program. You will be notified of waiting lists status changes. We encourage you to place your name on a waiting list. If the program you desire is full, additional sessions will be opened if possible. Please read your receipt carefully as dates, days, times and locations may have changed since the printing of the brochure.

If you did not retain or receive a receipt/confirmation it is your responsibility to contact our Main Office prior to the start of all classes you have registered for. No refunds or credit will be given for lack of notification.

Minimum/Maximum
When you see the words “Min/Max.” under a program it refers to the minimum number of participants needed for the program to run and the maximum number of participants that the program can accommodate.

Registration Deadline
Our programs need to meet the minimum number of enrollments by the registration deadline in order for the program to become active. It is important that you register by the registration deadline that is listed with each program to ensure that you are enrolled in the program, (if space is still available). Nothing kills an activity quicker than late registration. Registering as early as possible will help insure that the activity of your choice is held. After the registration deadline, registration may not be able to be taken. If we do not meet the minimum number of participants the program may be cancelled.

Refund Policy
Individuals submitting a request for a refund for a program will be eligible to receive a refund provided the request meets one of the criteria below:
  1. Individual must complete a refund application at the Apollo Recreation Center prior to two classes of the program session.
  2. No other refunds will be given after two classes of the program session have expired.
For various one day seminars, trips or special events a refund will be given if the following criterion occurs:
  1. Individual must complete a refund application at the Apollo Recreation Center one week prior to the seminar, trip or special event.
  2. There is a $50 non-refundable processing fee for Day Camp and Teen Camp
  3. A processing fee of $3.00 is deducted from all refunds with the exception of programs cancelled by the Alsip Park District. Individuals enrolled in programs, special events or trips that are cancelled by the Alsip Park District will be given a 100% refund and a processing fee will not be accessed.

Waivers and Release Forms
There is an inherent risk in participating in some recreational activities. In order to continue offering a variety of quality Park District programs, our insurance carrier requires that a waiver and release form be signed prior to participation. If a participant is under 18 years of age, a parent or guardian must sign. A valid signature is required at the time of registration.

Some Registration Guidelines

  1. The Registration Form must be completely filled out.
  2. Give as many class choices as possible.
  3. Only immediate family members may be listed on a registration form.
  4. Sign your waiver. Registrations cannot be processed unless the waiver is signed.
  5. Payment must accompany and are processed for all registrations

Privacy Policy
The personal and private information collected by the Alsip Park District from any individual(s) is intended for the sole use of the District, and such information will not be sold or distributed to other persons or agencies without the written permission of the individual(s) providing it, except as required by law. If information is provided to any other person or agency pursuant to any legal requirement, the District will advise the individual(s) of the disclosure

Resident/Non-Resident Distinction
Residents are those who pay taxes to the Alsip Park District and help support the Park District. Residents have first priority in our registration process. If you are unsure if you are paying taxes to the Alsip Park District, you may check your property tax bill or we will be glad to check for you. Non-residents pay fees up to one and one-half times the resident fee for most activities and services.

Special Accommodations
When registering On-Line, please let us know of your needs.  Please list any medications currently being taken or describe any special accommodations needed for the successful inclusion of your family member(s) into our program(s). Please allow us a two week notice to make arrangements.

Proof of residency is required initially and annually
Proof of residency is required. One must be a picture I.D. and a current Alsip utility bill. We are able to verify residency of those who pay a Village of Alsip water bill. If you do not pay an Alsip water bill you are required annually to provide a photo ID and a current utility.
